RSS Can Generate Awareness of a Stock

01/14/2008

One of best ways a company can provide constant information to potential investors and customers is to use a technology called RSS--which stands for Really Simple Syndication.

RSS enables a company to offer a feed of constant and interesting information that investors, customers, and partners can subscribe to (for free), read, and more importantly, forward on or post (syndicate) on other Websites.  An RSS feed allows a company to deliver spam-free content that users are interested in. It is spam free because users proactively subscribe to the information;  readers are interested in the content otherwise they wouldn't have subscribed to the feed.

The content in an RSS feed could include a company’s press releases, stock price changes, tips, articles, product updates, media hits, and other relevant information.

When a company adds an RSS Feed to its Website, it could make it easier for shareholders and potential investors to get information, as the feed enables users to receive company information without having to remember to visit the site.  Every time new content is added into the RSS Feed, subscribers will automatically receive it.
